Fidra's luggage boxes seem enormous when brought indoors but they aren't quite as cavernous as a big tourer demands, and they will soon be full to bursting. I had better first hoover out a year's worth of debris from underneath the top box's carpet, which may be fitted but is more B&Q doormat than Wilton's finest.

To be honest, I think the past few frantic days (or weeks) I've been getting by at work on little more than adrenaline and endless cups of tea. I'm ready for a holiday!
