Opposing tastes.
The coffee & brownie was to take away the taste of the "Large red shrimps" as described on the cafes menu, outside the Central Market.
Unfortunately I fussed up. The waitress suggested four shrimps each was adequate so I ordered for two, not having spotted the absence of pricing!!! Whilst waiting intermanably for the crustaceans arrive, I checked the online menu and was shocked to find the price to be €24.
I thought therefore a €48 bill to come. Rather pricey for lunchtime, at the side of the road on unstable tables & stools, but what the hell, it's once in a holiday.
"La quenta por favor" brought out a bill for €199.50
ASTOUNDED !!! THE EFF'N SHRIMPS WERE €24 EACH.
So the coffee n'cake @ only €10 went a teenie weenie way to taste relief.
Why do I repeatedly make this mistake every ten years or so? Don't answer that, on pain of death-by-chocolate.
Extras:- Me by Sue, prior to the big shock. Fabulous gable end of the Central Market. Aftermath. Mas Colores.
Hasta la vista, amigos
