On presents

On this extended period of my birthday I have recalled the wise words on presents by the mother of my good friend in San Jose California.

She said that she would accept a present only if it fits or if she could eat it.

I would love to have something new to wear, but of good quality and with a good fit, of course, but ......

As for eating/drinking, my good friend knows that the only alcoholic drink that I anymore can have or enjoy, is a small glass of madeira.   So that's what I had from her added with pastries and chocolate and a beautiful card! She also often writes a long greeting or a quotation on the card, which I appreciate and like.
