Pandanus
I’m still very taken with the French Quarter and its mix of faux French architecture and the sub-tropics. That big globe, top right, is a pandanus fruit; there were a dozen or so hanging heavily from the branches. Earlier, on the way back from HOTA, a blue-faced honeyeater and several rainbow lorikeets squabbled over the nectar of a flowering umbrella tree.
