arran ferry

the arran ferry just after gliding out of ardrossan harbour en-route to brodick. My first job (after paper boy) was working on this ferry as a kitchen assistant, at the weekend it berths on arran, so weekend nights out on arran was great fun for a 17 year old, seems so long ago now!

didn't actually notice the people in the foreground until I got this shot home, they make the photo I think, nice sense of scale.

That's Horse Island in the middle, local tales talk of horses being kept on it in the past, but I've never managed to get any documentary proof of that.
