Fava Beans
Aren’t they lovely? Despite having grown favas in the past, I don’t think I’ve ever looked closely at the flowers. Each of these little beauties should turn into a long delicious pod, filled with seeds. There are five varieties in the bed, at this point all mingled together in a huge biomass (Extra). The straight labelled rows have all rebelled, interfering with my hope to save out and identify seeds from each kind, but that maturity is a long time from now, so we’ll see. The stuff in the other bed is garlic, again, several kinds. These guys have stayed lined up, so we can keep track of the harvest.
