Smile Please...
As we walked in Balemartin this afternoon we were welcomed by this magnificent horse. Love the look of the smile as it had it's photo taken.
It seems that horses have been incredibly important in Tiree's (& many rural/island's) past. It is said that the horses kept the crofters on their crofts. Between 1870 and 1939 the export of young Clydesdales became the most profitable export for the islanders.
