Wiktionary definition
I've had this orchid for a looooong time, and the only time it had flowers was when I was first given it by one of my friends. After the flowers died, I was left with a long stem and a couple of leaves and I was close to throwing it out until I spotted Orchid Compost. When I emptied the orchid from it's old plant pot virtually all of it's roots had to be cut away as they were either rotten or dried up and I was left with a minute ball of roots. Again, I had thought of binning it because it looked so unhealthy, but I decided I may as well give replanting a bash seeing as I had a new larger plant pot and my bag of compost. Literally one month later and what you see is the result of a little bit of nurturing and the orchid has rewarded me with beautiful raspberry pink flowers in return. Just goes to show what a little bit TLC can do :o)
