Mrs Evil Goat

Nell has had a busy day in the garden. She's been out there all day working and snoozing on the insulation sheets, which must have been lovely and warm in the sunshine!!

Mike managed to get the roof on his 'workshop' today. Just the flooring to do once it's dried out and the doors to fit. Then he'll fill it with all his junk and it will be a horrible chaotic mess!!

The horses as had the weighbridge this morning - Lime was 549kg Buddy was 553kg and Jack was 363kg. All ok but Jack could do with losing a bit although he's the same weight he was at the end of last summer when he was mega fit. Suspect there's less muscle involved at the mo though! Then me and Eva had a nice ride through the woods. It was very peaceful and the boys were super chilled. Eva was great and helped with all the jobs before we went home for lunch.

I spent the afternoon in the garden moving piles of builders stuff around to try and avoid any more grass being killed off and day dreaming about how I hope it's going to look one day. Really keen to get the patio sorted soonish so we are not tracking mud through the house all summer. We had the doors open all day and the plaster is drying out nicely. Still a few damp patches though which is holding up painting.

It nearly all went up in flames this morning though. I was just about to leave to sort the horses and had been down the garden to say bye to Mike. As I walked back in the house I got a whiff of melting plastic but couldn't work out where from. I called Mike in, then noticed there was a wisp of smoke coming out of the plug where the extension cable was plugged in which was running the dishwasher and washing machine in the utility (we still only have working sockets in the existing parts of the house- not the new bits so having to run extensions all over the place). The extension cable was still coiled up on the reel and had been overloaded. Very very lucky escape as a few mins later I would have been gone and Mike was down the garden. Plus Toby was still in bed. Dread to think what could have happened. Can't wait till we have sockets, lights and heating again!! And a kitchen would be nice. And a shower that's not just a trickle so you can actually wash your hair!!
