Bring me sunshine

Well we certainly could have done with some sunshine in Morecambe today. Staying in the impressive Midland Hotel, a fine 1930's Art Deco edifice restored to a more contemporary style but still paying homage to its deco roots. Tomorrows blip I think.

We set off to get a picture with Eric Morecambe at least the statue of him anyway. He is set on the sea front and looks very happy in his plus fours. However most of Morecambe seemed to want a picture with Eric also so it was quite some time before we got our shot with Eric. In the meantime a family grabbed their opportunity and did what few others had done- strike the Bring Me Sunshine pose. They had a great time trying to get the pose right and the howling gale made balancing on one leg rather tricky but I think Eric would have been pleased with the result.
