litl hikes

A good start to the day and not just the weather. At 6.30 I walked back into the living room after popping into the kitchen to switch the heating on for an hour. Glanced out of the window and spotted a woodpecker (a great spotted one) on the suet block feeder. First woodpecker I’ve seen in the garden and as it’s not often I put suet blocks out I may now buy them more often.

After that excitement a walk to Tesco for milk and potatoes, a bit of housework (the sun showed up things that needed doing) and then outside to do some weeding where it was warmer than in the house.

In the afternoon a walk through the park. Wild flowers are now appearing (lesser celandine and stitchwort) and this shrub with pink flowers which grows near Stock Beck.
