Rainbow, Mote Park
In all the excitement of visiting the tip yesterday I omitted to mention an earlier pinnacle of excitement earlier in the day when I made the first cut of the grass this year.
Some of you may remember we were supposed to travel to Arran on Thursday for a week with friends. Owing to Doreen’s circumstances we decided not to go. A wise decision. Our friends arrived at Addrossen only to discover the ferry had been cancelled owing to winds and a smaller, less stable boat.
The earliest a crossing could be made was 31st March which was after we were to have left the island. No notification of the cancellation was received by with of us. They’re not back at home and we’re just grateful we hadn’t travelled from Kent on Thursday.
For today, it was the same drill as yesterday. Weather was better with brilliant sunshine in the morning, some very sharp showers in the afternoon and a rainbow while we were out walking.
I suspect tomorrow will be the same as the previous days. There will be light at the end of the tunne.
