Great Spotted Woodpecker

Snap PaulaJ! Except mine is a female not a male (no red on its head).

A young Great Spotted Woodpecker getting the hang of the peanuts. The first few times I saw it land it hung underneath the peanuts and couldn't reach them no matter how hard it did its pull-ups, but finally, CRASH!, it landed on the side - success for her and for me :-))
