Hampstead Garden Suburb
Today we went on an organised visit to a private house in Hampstead Garden Suburb which was almost wholly furnished with furniture by Edward Barnsley and his workshop, which is still active after more than a century. The Suburb was founded in 1906 on the edge of Hampstead Heath and the houses (some of them very magnificent) are all in Arts & Crafts style and have wonderful gardens.
This evening we will be going to a performance of The Barber of Seville in Wilton's Music Hall.
As Samual Johnson said "When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life"!
