Green is the Colour ...

With everything up and running pretty well at the cottage after our arrival, I took time out today for a long hike up into the hills. The transformation of the countryside is spectacular after the long drought and heat waves of 2023 when the fields looked like ploughed rocky chocolate. 

Here I am on the top of one hill looking out across the valley to the opposite hillside, a patchwork of wheat, grasses and olive groves with hedgerows of wild flowers. This is a perfect time of the year for hiking in rural Andulucia with the daytime temperatures around 22C-25C. We even had a short sharp rain shower late afternoon which was lovely.
