Chained library

For those with no knowledge of chained libraries these are from the days when books were so precious and rare that they would be chained to a shelf/wall/post/desk to stop them being stolen but with a chain long enough that they could be taken to a place to be read. This is a tribute to that time at the entrance of the British Library where l went yesterday to renew my membership.
I like the patina on the seat where many bottoms have sat polishing it nicely.
