Dinner out with friends

Saturday
Another day doing jobs around the house, though I took some time in the early afternoon to have a long chat with my brother and sister-in-law as I hadn't spoken with them in quite a while. Then early this evening we went out for dinner with our friends Kim and David, whom we have known since we first came to the States back in 1979. We saw a lot of them in those early years, up until we moved to France in 1986. We went to the same church initially and sang in the choir together. We also used to go to Symphony concerts together and we would get together at each others homes for coffee and dessert after the concert - back in those days when we could still have caffeine late at night and still get to sleep - not any more! Since returning from France we haven't seen as much of them as before - we were busy with our kids - whereas they don't have kids. However, in recent years, with our kids grown and out of the house (for the most part!) we have been getting together a little more. This was a last meal out together before we return to France for a couple of years. We don't leave for a couple of weeks, but they will be leaving for Texas to attend Kim's sister's memorial service before we leave. Unfortunately, once I put the picture on the computer I realized I had cut the very top of David's head off!
