Socks
A bundle of 5 pairs of colourful merino wool socks that I ordered on Sunday arrived today.
I woke up at 1:15 am, with an extremely dry mouth and needing a bathroom visit. I somehow knew that I might not get back to sleep again and those thoughts were correct. Fortunately, the codeine that I took allowed me to stay in bed, pain-free..
Just after 6 o’clock I got up and popped downstairs where Auntie was sitting in the front room, eating a Weetabix smothered in butter. I made us both a cup of tea, auntie helped herself to a fresh cream, chocolate eclair (which she had chosen when out Monday)for her second course.
Auntie‘s carer arrived to help her get dressed and ready for her day out at the FILO project where she would spend the day . My support team arrived to help me shower and dress, after which I sat on a chair in the garden for 10 minutes, enjoying the early spring sunshine whilst listening to Bird song.
At 11:30, my boss from work visited Laden with lemon, drizzle cake, hot cross buns and a beautiful pot plant. We chatted positively lost, enjoying a warm beverage and hot Cross bun.. In the flash, it was time for her to leave, just as my lunchtime Carer arrived.
After lunch and a few necessary phone calls, I potted around some flatter paths across the Commons and back through town, chatting to quite a few people who wondered why I was walking, gingerly along walking stick for support. I collected some more naproxen from the chemist before returning home to find Auntie be attended to by her evening Carer.
I was able to rustle up a supper of pre-cooked baby potatoes with grated cheese and baked beans. I sat with Auntie and endured yet another watching of far from the Madding crowd Which is fine for the first time but auntie has viewed this getting on for 50 times!
Bed was welcomed at 21:30.
