Jetty Museum

A drizzly morning, so I suggested to my brother and SiL that they might like the Jetty Museum at Windemere. Which they did, especially the conservation talk. The extra shows the conservator explaining the work which the team are undertaking to restore the twin-screw steam yacht “Esperance” - he is holding a model of the boat, the restored hull of which sits behind him. The plan is to get the fully restored boat back on the lake. Built for wealthy industrialist Henry Schneider, he used it to get to work in Barrow via the Furness railway, which he also owned.

The main image is of boat shaped shelters outside the museum, the nearest I could get to a cone shape today.
