Down town

Firstly, W was grateful for all your kind wishes for her birthday yesterday.  We had a nice evening out although the meal probably wasn't quite as good as we hoped.  Only a pub meal so we didn't expect anything fancy, but the pub has changed hands since we were last there and it wasn't quite as nice as it used to be.  Still OK though, and as part of her present I've arranged something a bit more posh later in the week which should more than make up for it.  Watch this space!

We had a wander into town this morning for a look round.  We passed through the church yard on the way which is looking good with all the daffodils in bloom but most of the crocuses that were there last week have now gone.  Interesting conversation with a lady in one shop who seemed to think it amazing that we had walked all the way in (it's just over a mile!).  We must look really ancient nowadays.  She was actually very friendly and I suspect it was just her way of trying to be nice!
