Last day of carnival

There's been a revival in our village of the old final evening of carnival traditions, involving fancy dress costumes and masks, a cross-dressed bride and groom, a huge fire in the street, much music and dancing and general jollity, and finally for the brave, leaping over the fire (when it's died down considerably). Today the weather was mild and dry so ideal for these outdoor festivities.
