The View

Carys had her mock ballet exam this morning. She had to miss swimming, but she didn't mind too much. She went in to the mock smiling and came out the same, so I can only assume she thought it went well. Real thing tomorrow and then we wait and see for the results.

We then had some girls time in town. We went to Claire's to spend her birthday voucher. It took over 25mins for her decide what to buy (a sparkly pink glasses case, a sparkly silver hairband and a cuddly dog (with big eyes) key ring). We had tears, silently running down her cheeks over the key ring as the one she picked had a hole in the back so I said no, there were two other identical dogs, but she wanted that specific dogs bless her. Finally, she gave in after giving her chosen dog a kiss on the nose and accepting the substitute.

We picked up some stuff for me in next and then went for a coffee. As we were about to leave her oldest friend G and her sister E and their Mum, my NCT friend R came in, so we stayed a bit longer and had a chat. On the way home we stopped in the churchyard to see a bride arrive. One of the governors from school spotted me and came over. She was going to be ringing the bells at the end of the service, but she also informed me the tower was open today from 2.30-4pm. Carys was very interested in this so I suggested we put it to daddy when we got home.

So low and behold after a late lunch we all headed back to town to go up the tower. Both kids got a chance to ring some of the 13 bells and were in the bell tower when others rang the bells. It was very loud and when Jim and I covered their ears they both got a fit of the giggles!

this was taken on the roof of the tower. St Mary's is an unusual church in that it has a tower and a spire. It also has wonderful view over our little market town.
