Scoots, Shoots & Leaves

Local Access: Uncomfortable

There is major road work/sewer repair being done in our neighborhood on one of the main thoroughfares. We've known about it for weeks, signs have been posted for days, through roads are closed and barricaded. And yet these workers still have to stand out in the HOT sun (in the 90s - ~33C - yesterday and today) with all their gear on - hard hats, vests, heavy boots - holding stop signs and directing whatever traffic might still try to wander through. Not only are these poor people cooking in the sun, they have to endure angry rude drivers who think they should be able to drive through. At least this worker had some shade - some of the others I saw were standing on hot concrete without a lick of shade to be had.

I'd say this qualifies as UNCOMFORTABLE - the Adjective/adverb challenge.
