Jewelry...
Words can't express how excited I am today! Those who know me, know that it's the small things that make me happy. I finally sat in on one of Camille's jewelry making classes at the University she teaches at. Shes been making jewelry for me here and there, but I wanted to know more about it. She actually suggested it, figured I would enjoy it. This woman has seen me at my worst and she slowly put me back together, still working on it. I truly respect and appreciate her so much - shes such a great friend. Despite of what happened w/ Noah and I...I'm so thankful shes still in my life and that we are close.
We went shopping Friday and picked up a few things - found a topaz stone, silver separators, already had a lot of hematite thats just been sitting around. I had a few ideas in my head of what I wanted to make. Hematite and Topaz are two of my favorite stones...wanted to combine the two. I learned so much today - the entire day just flew by so quickly. I learned knotting, crimps, how to use the tools, all of that - anything you need to know how to make jewelry. Well, beginning of it at least. I like simple jewelry, so it will be nice to actually make something that I can and would want to wear. I can't wait to get into the wire wrapping!
It was great seeing Camille do what she does - she really is one of the most talented people I know...shes so creative and works so hard. You kind of gain an appreciation for someone when you see them in action. I remember when she saw me give a presentation for work over the phone - which I do all the time...she was so surprised. It's nice to see people in their different roles in life. The ladies in the class were all very nice as well - ironically four of us were Gemini's! All born w/in the same week! There was balance in the class today!
Maybe a quiet evening tonight...maybe not ;) Yay for new friends who have great taste in music! Austin sent me a link to one of his favorite stations - currently listening to Groove Salad...wow...perfect station. Sure beats my Pandora station. Austin has great taste in music...among other things...definitely captured my attention.
Overall - a great day ;) Need to get ready for next week's trip back home...
