The Hands Have It
I sat in the sun to read my paper today. So what you may say. Well, sunshine is a very rare commodity these days and to have it long enough to be able to sit and luxuriate in its warmth, albeit through a glass door made me a very happy lady.
Previously I had had the pleasure of striding down for a coffee at 9am in Princes Street with daughter#1 before she went to work in the gallery. It was cold but was warming up as the sun rose in the sky. Unfortunately by the time daughter #3, granddaughter and great granddaughter Julia arrived for a visit the sunshine was a distant memory, but no matter, we hardly noticed as we watched Julia aged 16 months racing backwards and forwards from the back door to the front door with the endless energy of a toddler. Open plan works for energetic children, not so much for heat conservation.
It was a short visit but mother and baby are still recovering from 12 hours of travelling from Sharjah yesterday and an early night is on the cards.
