The Obelisk

Most visitors to Cirencester will probably never come across this obelisk which is in a pretty inconspicuous place away from the town centre, albeit not too far from the remains of the Roman Amphitheater. (which is not something to get too excited about - just some high grass banks that form a sort of amphitheater if you use your imagination.)

I am not exactly selling it well, I guess there are just better things to see if your time is limited on a visit to the town!

I have tried to make the best of it with this pic albeit on a grey cloudy day.
