Locked Up

I have had my eye on this rusted old lock for some time. It is on a wrought iron gate at the top of a steep path which leads from Bridge 4 down to the Union Canal. I love the colours and shapes of the rusted mechanism and the mystery of why the gate was there, when it was last locked and who has the key? However I was even more delighted today when I discovered that the lock and the gate were manufactured by A & J Main and Co. Of Glasgow - the company who built the wonderful football stand in Peebles and which featured in my snowy blip back in January.
