The Princess & the Pea

We’ve just purchased a new dining table and chairs. However, the seat pads are cream linen…and I have a cat (hence the tea towels on them as a temporary measure). So, I went out and bought 4 seat pads to protect them. We’re still sorting out our newly decorated dining room so when returning with them from the shop I just plonked them all on one chair to be dealt with later.

Almost straight away, Ziggy had jumped up on top of them all and had gone to sleep.

Does anyone remember the fairy story about how only a real princess would feel the discomfort of a pea hidden under a tall pile of mattresses?
