If you go down to the woods today....
Spent most of the morning at Finlandrigg Woods hoping for a sighting of the Marsh Fritillary butterfly which according to the notice board, became extinct in Cumbria in 2005. Natural England together with Butterfly Conservation and volunteers has reintroduced it into these woods. Did I see this spectacular butterfly, nah!! But there's always another day! I did see some other ones though. Also the meadow where these butterflys can be found are at the far side of the woods and I've never been able to venture that far before because its usually so wet and boggy but at the moment its quite dry. So I really enjoyed going somewhere different. There's a few more here
