Big GB and Little GB

Betsy was training today at Richings Park and was very excited to see that the GB Women's Team was training there too ahead of their warm up game tomorrow at Farmham Park in preparation for the upcoming tournament in Prague.

It was really nice for both of us, because the person who scouted Betsy two years ago was also there. Her name is Sarah Jones, and we saw her last at Betsy's first Trial, though we never saw her again. She has been playing in France and Australia, and is now in the GB Women's team. It was lovely to tell her that Betsy has fallen in love with softball, and has been selected three times for GB, and that none of it would have happened if she hadn't spotted her at school when she was in Year 5.

She is sixth from the left in this picture. The U13 girls (plus a few little sisters!) posed with the team who were all very nice to them. Sarah made a big fuss of Betsy which was lovely. We are going to the game tomorrow as well.

Chris took Al swimming while we were gone. He cooked a fabulous dinner for us all and afterwards we watched what I can only describe as one of the worst TV programmes I have ever seen - a show where minor and very minor TV faces (can't say 'personalities') sing in the style of a famous person. Emma Bunton then gives everyone a 7 out of 10 and says they were brilliant. The winner was someone who I have never heard of crucifying a Dusty Springfield song in the most excruciating way whilst wearing a very unconvincing wig.

Apparently it will go on for several weeks, featuring the same celebrities each time. I don't watch a massive amount of telly and so perhaps I am just a grump.
