Zero horse power

A trip through the industrial estate near our daughter’s house has some modern businesses, some areas being demolished and some established workshops.

This van is going nowhere soon. Unlike some of the vehicles overtaking me as we headed back home this afternoon.

Certain vehicles seem to have differently set speedometers that permit them to operate above the speed limit (and not get caught!).

They tend to rush up in the fast lane out of nowhere and, if they can, speed off into the distance in order to make up just a minute or two’s journey time.

In recent trips I’ve noticed that some days one make will dominate. The main ones are Teslas; Audis; Mercedes. Today was a BMW day.

I should say these makes are not the only ones. Older Golfs, some small Japanese makes and the occasional Porsche also feature. And by no means do the majority of drivers of these vehicles drive with such disregard to the speed limits.

Maybe if they were caught and had their engines removed instead of an endorsement ……………?

In any event back home safe and sound after a busy and enjoyable week.
