Going up

Thoroughly horrible day with rain throughout. The steward and I took advantage of a break in the weather to put the boat in the hoist but it was so late there wasn’t much time to do anything. I spent about three quarters of an hour trying to persuade the drop keel to - errr- drop.
She’s been sitting on her trailer for at least five years and the bit of the keel forward of the pivot is well rusted into the ballast keel.
Tomorrow I shall refit the rudder and then have a proper attempt on the keel in the dry and warm weather.
