The Cube

The Cube was created by Joe Gobin of the Tulalip Tribes.  It seems his whole family carves and makes various art.  The cube contains images of Salmon (from which the Tulalips came from), halibut and crabs.   All images that have great meaning to the Tribes.   Mukilteo light house of course was a meeting place for various tribes in the area.    Captain George Vancouver named it Rose Point because of all the roses on this point.  It was later named Elliot Point after midshipman Samuel Elliot in 1841.  
     I couldn't find out any more information about the cube unless I wanted to pay for a subscription.  Nope.   oh, well.   My entry for MM and thanks to stujphoto for hosting this month!!
