Aira Force

Up early to head east to the northern fells for the Carrock Fell race. 
Got over there and tested the 4x4 mode in the Skoda Karoq for the first time in a car park (muddy field).
Jess trotted down to registration while I got my hiking gear on and she was back just as I'd sorted my gaiters. She'd forgotten to bring safety gear (map, compass, waterproof trousers) figuring she knew these fells so didn't need them. She figured without race scrutineering and was refused entry.
We needed to adapt so having come this far we headed down to Aira Force. I could wander about a bit and she could get a 5miler in up onto Gowbarrow Fell. 
Plan B worked out ok, Jess got in 5+ miles and 1400ft ascent in the mud.
