A plein air morning
at the lake definitely
cannot be missed out

We were a group of 8 at Mittry Lake this morning. Originally we'd agreed to meet at the boat launch, but we found it rather busy so we moved over to the jetties. We've painted there several times in the past and it always has something new to offer. 

Today, there were fishers on the jetties and boaters on the lake. The fisherman I was trying to paint didn't stand still for long, so he was a challenge. Some fishermen were catching just standing on the jetty. 

Out on the lake several kayaks went by us. They were very quiet. 

I  spotted a pair of grebes fishing on the lake. They were difficult to catch because they were so busy diving and bobbing on the water. 

I managed one ink and wash, then needed to head home for a late lunch.

We're all running out of time before we each leave for home, so today was another great morning to paint.
