Saturday Treats

I enjoyed a Saturday morning breakfast of porridge with blueberries and raspberries.  Then we walked in the sunshine with Merlin in the muddy field - it is slightly drier than a few days ago.  The water courses are very full and the water rushing along.  As I walked I noticed amidst the signs of spring, the remnants of last year's seasons - rose hips, and beech leaves dry and brown rustling in the breeze.  This nest has survived the winter storms or perhaps more likely it is a new one ready to be used this year.  I've noticed the blackbirds in our garden gathering nesting material.

Grateful:
- For fresh sage, chives and spinach from the allotment.
- For a gentler, milder breeze today with a hint of spring in the air.
- To Andy for getting up to give Merlin his breakfast this morning enabling me to have an extra hour in bed.
