Woke feeling perishing cold again (in spite of having turned up the storage heater last night). East wind, feeling like it's been unimpeded all the way from Siberia. Scuttled over to the market for our messages and scuttled home again, keeping outdoor layers on indoors (including our bunnets). The chilli seedlings have germinated, however (the bigger ones on the left are tomatoes).

Just heard worrying news from Antwerp, that the daughter of our dear friend Danny is in hospital being operated on, having suffered a brain haemorrhage.
