Friday: We Have The Scoops

I was up in Belize City today for a lunch gathering of my international colleagues.  There were a lot of references to International Women’s Day and presentation of flowers.  I’m not sure I can really get on board with it - it seems wrong to talk about equity on one particular day which should be an everyday occurrence.

After the lunch, Humberto and I stopped off to get ice cream we need for an event on Monday.  This was the ice cream shop in question.  I was holding two cones of rum and raisin when someone came up and said they recognized me from TV (Belizean TV only shows about three people a week so it’s not a high bar).  I think I carried off the conversation quite well despite the ice cream dripping down my knuckles.

We went out tonight to Coco Gardens.  We made a conscious decision not to go to Corkers as it’s too weird.  We’re just put in a really difficult decision when either G or S sidle up to us to moan about each other.  I can’t say that Coco Gardens really ticked our boxes in the same way.  We’ll just have to see what happens.
