Google Lens

when this plant first started to grow, I thought, oh goody - a volunteer eggplant.  But no, once I saw the spiky fruit, I knew it was something far more sinister.

Thanks to the accuracy of Google Lens I now know that its a thorn apple (jimson weed to the Americans), (Datura stramonium) and highly poisonous.

And do you know - it was introduced into Australia as a garden plant.  Honestly! 

It goes into the bin tomorrow!!  I'll pull it out wearing gloves I think, just to be on the safe side.
