Waterland

The municipality just north of Amsterdam is literally called ‘Waterland’. I wonder what it feels like to be in such proximity, particularly in this less drained area of North Holland, of so much water, of so many waterways. Apparently half of North Holland is below sea level.j

Took a spontaneous decision to come back to Edinburgh for a week with J. Flights are still relatively cheap - this time with KLM via Amsterdam. I’ve not been feeling great and thought it would be more homely recovering in Scotland than rattling around the house in Italy. If it weee a dilemma to travel or not it was a defiantly first world one.
