Birkmyre Lion

The Birkmyres started life as weavers in Kilbarchan before going on to do very well in Gourock Ropework Company. This lion stands in the corner of what is now Birkmyre Park where I play rugby. The Birkmyre's gifted the recreation grounds to the village and we do our best to turn it from Birkmyre to quagmire several times a week!
