Discarded...and Found

We are still three, although I expected there would be only two; my brother was to return to the city today, but plans change when interesting things happen....so here we are again..my sister, brother and me adapting to new events...

Our plan was to go thrift shopping before my brother left; we do not need need anything, but we do love the thrill of The Hunt! ...It is in our DNA.. You just never know what treasures you will find - and at such a low cost!  And if you find nothing? The entertainment value alone is worth it.

I took great pleasure in noting a box of unfinished quilting projects...patterns with some of the fabric pieces to finish them and some kits never even opened! Unfinished Projects! For only $2.00! I restrained myself..I have enough of my own...but I felt SO much better about mine....SO reassuring to see that other quilters lose interest too..and also inspiring to see that some are willing to admit to failure, give up and move on to other things! Hmmm..I have never considered that an option; I always felt that if I started it, I had to finish it, and was to suffer guilt until I did? Is that a rule? Like who thought that one up? So I went home with a new outlook concerning all those unfinished projects I have stashed in my closets. That alone was worth the trip to the Thrift Store!

Oh yes, the unexpected event that changed our plans for the day? Before heading home, we dropped into the pet store to show my sister Max, the store cat... and....there was Merlin...a new cat up for adoption; he had just arrived three days before and he was the Perfect Cat, the one my brother has been hoping for so long to find; he was so enamoured that he was ready to adopt him right then and there.....but knowing the commitment it means, he asked the clerk to put an Adoption Pending note on Merlin's cage , saying that he would think  hard about it and return tomorrow with his answer..

And that is how we  were treated to one more day with our brother!

The Perfect Cat can be seen stepping out of his favourite napping place in the store...(extra) Yes, the cats are allowed to run wild in the store...

PS: Merlin and Max get along famously!  A good sign...
