All ready for choir
I was busy all morning at home, but this afternoon it was choir. I’m in North Tyne Voices and we meet in our village hall.
The hall was still locked when most of us arrived and you can see that three members were taking advantage of the sunshine.
We had two more new members today. (News about us seems to be spreading.) The rehearsals are always very happy. People do sometimes look puzzled or unsure or are trying to find the place, so it’s not smiles all the time. The overall atmosphere is great.
We are singing at Wallington Hall, a National Trust property, on March 26th. There will be no piano. We practised in accompanied today. There was a brilliant moment when our enthusiastic bass section came in with a different key. The rest of the choir followed their lead!!
I called to see Jenny, Dennis and Kate after choir. Kate has to be interviewed to keep her current job tomorrow, along with loads of other NHS managers. Not an easy time. I suspect that the decisions have already been taken but I’m a cynic regarding the NHS organisation these days.
