Beezer of a sky this morning

As I was leaving the writers group on Sunday, I had a rather curt exchange with a group member about my desire to get my novella published. We should only write for the sake of writing, she said. Is seeking publication not a valid goal? Today I purposefully re-jigged some of my earlier chapters, because I want to make the manuscript more appealing to publishers. I am not prostituting my art, I'm trying to sharpen it.
