Following De Saint Exupéry's traces
The author of The little prince visited Paraguay at the end of the 1920s, when he was a pilot on the Aeropostale. He did land on the Ypacarai lake and stayed at the Hotel del Lago, in San Bernardino. Legend has it that the hatlike silhouette of the Patiño hill inspired him the famous drawing of the elephant digested by a giant boa. A Paraguayan sculptor, Camilo Guantes, has recently payed homage to this story with an installation that allows to see the hill trough a reproduction of that seminal drawing.
