2024 Saturday — House Gone

Two days ago a house resided right there where the big diesel truck and earth moving equipment sits. It doesn’t matter that it was a wreck of a house, and it was. Watching the placed being destroyed, totally demolished, has been strange.

How many people have lived there over the years? How many children celebrated holidays in the walls of that house, their home? How many kids became teenagers while living there? How many people over the years have owned that house?

We have always seen it from the back. We’ve looked right over the top. It’s been empty for possibly two years. We aren’t surprised that it was torn down; we are surprised at the speed with which it was demolished. We are surprised with how astounding it has been to watch and experience.
