A day of firsts
My apologies that I am not making any comments at the moment. I have too much happening - from making complex plans for working overseas shortly, to catching up on back web work to trying to relax watching some Wimbledon tennis at night, to our daily training for the Masters Games in October.
Today was Big Lens Day at our favourite photographic store in Adelaide. I also did a blip from their last big lens day on 7th December. Here are some firsts:
Today at lens day I met my young cousin Paul for the first time. He is an up and coming film maker of considerable note. Check out his latest work here.
Got my hands on the new Canon Super zoom, the EF 200-400 F4 IS USM with 1.4 Extender built in. Took sample photos with it, on my own CF card I took with me. It was amazing! So is the price!
Took photos of this new lens with our recently new 40mm 2.8 pancake lens. So this is my blip today - from this very reasonably priced 40mm lens showing the 200-400 fantasy lens! At least the sales guy was honest saying we might need a mortgage for this new monster.
Bigger mortgage!
Tested out the new Canon 2X Mark 3 Extender on the 70-200mm 2.8 zoom. It gives much sharper images than the old 2X extender. Now has a micro-processor in it.
Spoke to the Canon Sales Manager for SA and he agreed that of course Canon Service would repair my faulty 24-105 lens. My apologies to Canon for my previous comments. Hope to get it back before I leave for Finland.
