It's a hard life Lola...
Ele and Kenny were visiting Kenny's sister Aileen in Broughty-Ferry this weekend and were heading home this afternoon so as they would be virtually passing our door I messaged Ele this morning to invite them to pop in for coffee on their way past, which they did.
Aileen has recently had a whole kitchen refurb by the same company who did Ele and Kenny's last year. Ele was anxious that Aileen wouldn't like the end result (given that she'd recommended the company) but all is well and Aileen is delighted with it.
Over coffee they updated us on Andrew and Nikki's wedding plans.
The invitations are in the post so we will receive them early in the week. Andrew is in trouble as he and his best man went to look at kilts and had a piece of the bridesmaid's dress material with them, to ensure they found tartan that complimented the colour of the dresses. He was only meant to look at the tartans and identify maybe three that were suitable, then he and Nikki were to go back and make the final choice together. Somehow that plan got lost in the stress excitement of it all, and he and his best man ended up choosing a tartan and have hired kilts and paid. Unfortunately the tartan is a complete clash with the bridesmaids dresses! Ele showed me photos and whilst it is a lovely tartan, I have no idea what possessed him to not only choose it, but go ahead and book it! I suspect Nikki will be marching him back to get it changed! Next task is the seating plans. Oh the joy of wedding planning! :-))
Once they left, we had chicken fajitas for dinner and watched another episode of Vera. Lola was exhausted after her very energetic walk on Blackford Hill today. I was tempted to join her in a snooze but I managed to resist :-)
And that's another weekend over!
