Chicken à la King

This is a well loved recipe from my mother, written out by my father in his fine italic script.

You can see the ink has been stained from enthusiastic cooking.

I updated it a little, changing some of the method and ingredients (e.g. using fresh mushrooms rather than tinned) and adding more sherry than stated in the recipe.

The conclusion from my audience was “delicious but perhaps a bit too much sherry”
