All Change

A relatively quiet day building towards the Falmouth Branch of the Royal Naval Association AGM & Branch Meeting in the evening.
It was all change, with the chair and secretary, a married couple, relocating out of the county we were looking for volunteers. I had persuaded Richard, of Friday Coffee fame, to allow himself to be nominated as Chair and he is happy enough. For Secretary we had a former member of the “White Mafia”, the name by which the RN Supply & Secretariat Branch is known, (Mrs S is a former member).
I’ll be sorry to see Roy and Carol depart but they will be back occasionally including for Octobers Trafalgar Night.
Following the AGM and the meeting we had a presentation from Lily, a Falmouth Sea Scout, on her trip to South Korea, we helped with a donation towards her costs.
There may be some of you who remember from the news headlines last year that they endured, a typhoon, flooding and unseasonably hot weather. It was accompanied by a lot of photo’s and an entertaining narrative. It’s not easy as a 17 year old to stand up and talk to a roomful of strangers.
